JO-ANNE WILLIAMS-BARNES

EXPERIENCED CPA AND FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

Our Founder, Jo-Anne Williams Barnes, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) holding a Master’s of Science in Accounting (MSA) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting from the University of Baltimore and is a seasoned accounting professional with several years of experience in the field of managing financial records for non-profits, small, medium, and large businesses. Jo-Anne is a certified Sage Intacct Accounting and Implementation Specialist, a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, an AICPA Not-for-Profit Certificate II holder, and Standard for Excellence Licensed Consultant. Additionally, Jo-Anne is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountant (AICPA), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA) where she continues to keep abreast on the latest industry trends and changes.

Tyria Hall
Small Business Accounting Coordinator
With over 27 years of accounting experience, Tyria serves as our Small Business Accounting Coordinator. As a team lead, she has overseen large operating budgets and excels at providing direct personal services that give our clients confidence in their finances. She leads by example and is extremely disciplined with firm integrity. Throughout her career, Tyria has received numerous Achievement Awards for Outstanding Performance in the field. She constantly thinks out-of-the-box, loves challenges and solving problems, as well as strives for complete client satisfaction.
Lesley Tweedie
Director of Technology & Client Services
Lesley brings over 20 years of experience in accounting and nonprofit program management. She is a certified Sage Intacct Implementation Specialist and a certified Sage Intacct Accounting Specialist. She is well versed in fiscal management of organizations, assisting with system conversations, audit preparations and General Ledger maintenance. Lesley places great emphasis on helping our clients stay compliant with regulations and established policies. Her goal is to maintain financial records in excellent shape for audits, board meetings, strategic planning or any other business purpose.
Heather Aucoin
Accounting Manager
Heather brings over 7 years of progressive accounting experience to our clients. She provides financial management services including account reconciliations, projections, financial statement preparations, grant/funder reporting, audit preparations, and AP/AR/payroll processing. Heather's success in client management is based on her understanding of our clients and her ability to proactively meet their financial and accounting needs. Heather is a highly meticulous person with a passion for analyzing financial data. Our clients love her positive energy and tireless dedication to their success.
Amy Sexton
Senior Team Accountant
As an accountant with more than 20 years of experience, Amy knows that building a close relationship with clients is the key to successful long-term partnerships and exceptional accounting. Amy enjoys the challenge of a complex account environment and her clients are consistently impressed by the deep knowledge and personal touch she brings to their finances.
Chez-Paree McNeal
Team Accountant
Chez-Paree is our Team Accountant who has worked in a wide range of accounting and finance roles, starting as a staff accountant, working upwards then moving into non profit financial analysis. She has been meeting the financial management needs of corporations and non profits for a number of years. Chez-Paree prides herself in accurately processing and presenting transactional data, while providing in-depth financial analysis. Chez-Paree is a certified QuickBooks advisor and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Old Dominion University. She is passionate about serving non-profit clients and her motto is: "We're big enough to serve you, small enough to know you."
Melissa Johnson
Senior Accountant
Melissa is an experienced accountant, specializing in a multi-client environment. She is attuned to detail and organized. Melissa excels at producing accurate financials and engaging with clients in a friendly, effective manner. Her achievements include compliance with GAAP, keeping reconciliations clean, and working collaboratively with coworkers and clients. Melissa is emphatic about proper GL coding, assisting with accurate budget forecasting, and the use of seamless technology systems that enhance the accounting cycle. Her goal is to continue to grow in the non-profit sector and maintain professional standards with clients.
